Jan 09, 2015 2 Posts RE Plaquenil Hydroxychloroquine during pregnancy Posted on Jan 9, 2015 at pm I'm six weeks pregnant and jumped in this convo because I had just read a study where in some t ypes of APA's, Lovenox and Bany Aspirin are not enough. I've had two healthy children followed by three second trimester, unexplained losses. HOWEVER, that being said, RE has given me the option to take Plaquenil due to the overall circumstances of the previous pregnancy and working to keep us from having a repeat loss. I was wondering if anyone has taken Plaquenil, or known anyone who has. The usual starting dose of Plaquenil is 200 mg twice a day or 400 mg once a day, administered orally, in people weighing 80 kg or more. The usual dosage works for most people who take Plaquenil, but it is possible to increase or decrease the dose based on individual needs. It's important to watch for possible side effects and toxicity.
